National Highways East Region CWF

After National Highways requested them to undertake Principal Contractor duties on schemes across the region, Taylor Woodrow we were contacted to programme and manage works on their Lot 5 (Civils) portion of the East Region CWF. The area spanned Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, and Essex with schemes varying from filter drain replacement to traffic comms upgrades, and resurfacing.
Splitting the team into a day and night roster we were able to maintain continuous workflows across multiple simultaneous projects – the day team representing Taylor Woodrow’s interests and liaising with their suppliers and contractors, third party contractors, National Highways, local authorities and stakeholders. The night team then had everything in place from the daily handovers to keep the works on track. At one point we were managing twelve simultaneous schemes spread over an area of 7,100m² so we developed stringent and fluid logistics, communication, and management strategies to ensure there wasn’t any disruption to the works and each site team had the required documentation, permissions, manpower, materials, and equipment to undertake the evening’s tasks.
